People with developmental or intellectual disabilities may struggle with adapting to the changes that come with adulthood and independent living. However, with the support of THE NEW COOL LLC’s life skills training program, our participants will steadily grasp and develop the required skills for better living conditions. Our person-centered approach allows us to structure our training with the participant’s specific needs in mind. This simply means that we help our participants determine the areas they need to work on and create activities that hone in on those specific skills. The primary goal of life skills training is to empower individuals with disabilities to overcome the obstacles that hinder them from accomplishing daily tasks, engaging in community activities, and establishing wholesome relationships.
Our life skills training program aims to deliver participants with the following promises:
- Better chances for independent living
- Promotion of a high self-esteem
- Higher chances of acquiring and maintaining employment
- Lessened dependence on government programs and other people
- Ability to manage one’s home, hobbies, and finances

Core Focus
To allow individuals with intellectual and behavioral* disabilities the opportunity to enhance their skills, remain in or return to the community using less restrictions as their capabilities allow; designed to improve their abilities.
